Biorevitalization is the revitalization of skin in a biological way by returning the life to skin. This is a non-surgical and widely applied way to fight skin ageing and various skin problems in aesthetic medicine.
During the procedure, the skin is injected with small doses of pure hyaluronic acid of non-animal origin.
BIOREVITALIZATION
Hyaluronic acid is the main structural element of connective tissue. It is the main component of the body’s hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid keeps the skin moist. One hyaluronic acid molecule binds about 200-500 water molecules in the tissue. This property of hyaluronic acid ensures the youthfulness of the skin. In young people, the amount of hyaluronic acid in the dermis is sufficient to keep the skin looking young and beautiful. However, over time, the amount of this ‘elixir of youth’ diminishes and the skin tone, firmness, elasticity, vitality and wrinkles diminish. In addition to biological ageing, the skin is also subject to photoageing, which is the process of premature ageing of the skin due to prolonged exposure to ultraviolet rays from the sun.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING BIOREVITALIZATION?
In 2007, American scientists showed that injecting hyaluronic acid into the skin restores moisture and simultaneously stimulates collagen synthesis, reducing the rate of its disintegration. The body’s own hyaluronic acid synthesis is also stimulated. This not only hydrates the skin, but also restores its properties, and the newly formed fibers of the dermis give the skin a strong ‘lifting’ effect. Therefore, after a minimum number of biorevitalization treatments (three treatments with a break of 3-4 weeks), the collagen synthesis induced by the hyaluronic acid preparations can have a long-lasting, increasing effect – an improvement in the appearance of the skin.).
WHY BIOREVITALIZATION IS SO EFFECTIVE?
The first thing the patient notices is a smoothing of the wrinkles. Initially, this effect is caused by the injected hyaluronic acid, but later it is further developed by the hyaluronic acid and collagen synthesis produced by the body.
WHAT IS THE PROCESS?
As hyaluronic acid penetrates the skin, it supplies it with water and becomes involved in metabolic processes. Microcirculation and oxidation processes improve, the supply of nutrients to skin cells increases and the body’s own hyaluronic acid synthesis begins – this is the factor that has the greatest impact on the appearance of the skin. Once the tissue is saturated with hyaluronic acid, the synthesis of collagen and elastin is stimulated. During the biorevitalisation process, it is possible to gradually increase the amount of hyaluronic acid in the skin.
Lasting results can be seen after just two to four treatments. The patient notices a gradual improvement in the appearance of the skin: skin tone and elasticity increase, color improves, it has a radiant, fresh appearance, the effect of hydrated skin, small wrinkles are smoothed out and the skin structure is restored. Biorevitalisation is therefore a stimulating therapy – the skin revitalizes under the influence of hyaluronic acid preparations.
HOW IT DIFFERS FROM MESOTHERAPY
Both methods have significant roles in aesthetic dermatology and solution of problems of various skin types. In terms of revitalization, the main differences of techniques are the following:
- Number of treatments
Biorevitalization requires 3, mesotherapy – 6 to 10 treatments; - Effect of treatments
After the biorevitalization procedure, the effect is noticeable immediately, but after the mesotherapy procedure, the effect is not immediately noticeable; several procedures are required for that; - Composition of preparations
In mesotherapy, depending on skin problems, mixtures of various substances are used, but during biorevitalization, pure hyaluronic acid is injected.
BIOREVITALIZATION IS PERFORMED IN CASE OF:
- individually or in combination with other aesthetic procedures – to improve the results before plastic surgery;
- after aggressive skin procedures;
- to improve skin relief (stretch marks, scars, post-acne) or prevention;
- before sun baths, to refresh the skin after exposure to the sun, e.g. after a vacation;
- after various stresses;
- after childbirth
IN WHICH AREAS THE BIOREVITALIZATION IS PERFORMED?
Usually, the procedures are performed in the areas of face, neck, décolletage, hands and forearms. These are the open body areas that require most of attention, since these areas are mostly damaged by the UV rays and affected by photoageing. However, in general, biorevitalization can be performed in any area of body.
HOW MANY PROCEDURES ARE REQUIRED?
There is a very wide and diverse spectrum of biorevitalizers and contourplastics for biorevitalization. The products and treatment courses depend on the patient’s age and skin condition, and are determined by the aesthetic medicine doctor in an individual treatment regimen after an analysis of your skin and its problems. The analysis is free and done during the first consultation. After the first biorevitalization treatment, the effect is immediately noticeable, however, it is recommended to have a full course of treatments. A repeated course of biorevitalization has a smaller number of treatments. A biorevitalization course usually consists of 3 treatments, each once a month. Additional maintenance treatments can be carried out after the course of treatments.
HOW LONG THE PROCEDURE LASTS?
The procedure lasts 30 – 60 minutes , depending on the specific treatment area. Usually, patients feel no pain; however, in case of hypersensitivity, local anaesthetic cream is applied on the area. Slight swelling and redness is possible after the procedure – it is a normal skin reaction that disappears within a short period.
RECOMMENDATIONS BEFORE AND AFTER THE PROCEDURE
There are no specific restrictions before the biorevitalization procedure, however, a week before the procedure, it is not recommended to take aspirin and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs to relieve pain, fever or inflammation. After the procedure, a visit to the sauna, bathhouse, swimming pool and exposure to UV rays should be avoided for 3-7 days. After the procedure, you will receive an introduction to the rules of skin care at home.
