How the gynaecology consultation works?

At the beginning of a consultation the gynaecologist obtains complete information about the health condition of the patient and the possible symptoms she is experiencing. During the consultation, the patient’s medical records, previously diagnosed conditions, medications and family history are discussed.

Before diagnostics, during the consultation the gynaecologist carries out various tests, including an examination of the  pelvic organs, breasts and abdomen.

In our clinic, all the necessary tests are carried out on site: sonographic examinations, cervical cancer tests, vaginal swab tests.

Patients can bring the results of the tests to the consultation (if they are within the time limits indicated below):

• oncocytological cervix swab test (validity period: one year);
• pelvic ultrasound (validity period: one month);
• vaginal swab test and urine tests – detection of possible infections (validity period: one week).

1. Medical treatment

According to the nature of the gynaecological problem, if medical treatment is prescribed the doctor can prescribe the following medicines for the patient: antibacterial, coagulation, analgesic, immune correction, biostimulants, hormonal therapy.

Pharmaceuticals in gynaecology are prescribed in the form of pills and capsules, suppositories, injections, ointments and other forms.

4. Hyaluronic acid filler injections

Filler injections are used to restore the volume of the soft tissues in the external genital organ area and improve the aesthetic appearance of this area. Filler injections are a practical alternative to surgery. Use of hyaluronic acid as filler promotes the formation of collagen and elastin, as well as adds volume.

Non-stabilised hyaluronic acid filler injections are used in the case of dryness of the vagina, usually due to atrophic conditions, after the treatment of oncological diseases, chemotherapy, radio therapy; problems caused by menopause.

Young women can also experience vaginal dryness in 30% of cases and they often avoid discussing it. This makes sexual intercourse very difficult, causing recurrent cystitis and vaginal inflammation. In these cases, periodic injections solve the problem.

It is advised to combine filler injections with vaginal rejuvenation with laser – the effect will last much longer.
