Photorejuvenation is the latest technique used for the correction of ageing skin changes caused by the reduced production of collagen. Photorejuvenation helps to reverse pigmentation changes: pigment spots, freckles, age spots, melasma, pale pigmentation in scars and stretch marks.
The latest alexandrite laser, GentleLase Pro, removes pigment spots, while the laser pulses stimulate collagen and elastin fibres, leading to photorejuvenation, as well to smoothing and rejuvenating the skin.
Photorejuvenation improves skin texture and, thanks to the energy of the laser ray, removes pigment spots – restoring even skin colour and stimulating collagen synthesis. The skin becomes firm, smooth and beautiful. Laser skin rejuvenation is a light, skin-friendly procedure. It is a non-traumatic, quick and side-effect-free procedure. It does not remove the top layer of skin, but simply stimulates the fibroblasts, which in turn stimulate elastin and collagen production, with laser pulses. In this way, new collagen is synthesized. Skin renewal takes place.
The photorejuvenation procedures in our clinic are performed with the alexandrite laser GentleLase Pro, manufactured by Syneron-Candela (USA), the world leader in medical equipment.
HOW IS THE PROCEDURE PERFORMED?
Photorejuvenation procedure with the alexandrite laser GentleLase Pro is a non-traumatic procedure.
The procedure starts with the skin being cleansed. You will be fitted with protective goggles.
No cooling gel is required, thanks to the DCD’s integrated skin-cooling, skin-protecting system.
The light applicator is pressed against the skin, after which a relaxing, short laser pulse is sent. At this point you will feel a thermal irritation. The laser applicator is then moved to an adjacent area until the entire skin surface is treated.
HOW WILL MY SKIN LOOK AFTER THE TREATMENT?
Your skin will turn pink and you will feel a sensation of warmth. Redness and heat sensation after the treatment are normal skin reactions that will pass within a few hours. If there were pigment spots on the treated area, they will darken for a few days, then fall away, leaving smooth skin.
The skin will smooth out within 24 hours, becoming firmer after each treatment. In very rare cases, patients may notice a slight swelling of the cheeks, which may persist for a few days.
Laser photorejuvenation is not a cosmetic procedure, but rather a therapeutic one: after the procedure, the skin’s blood circulation is activated, collagen synthesis is improved by approximately 30% and the skin’s natural regeneration is stimulated. For these reasons, a course of 2-3 treatments is recommended to remove pigment spots and rejuvenate the skin.
The treatment effectively removes pigment spots and prevents signs of skin ageing.
Before the procedure, you will discuss with your doctor your wishes and the results you want to achieve.
Depending on the patient’s desired results, it may be possible to combine photorejuvenation with other treatments at the clinic to achieve maximum results. For example, photorejuvenation can be successfully combined with procedures such as fillers, hyaluronic acid injections, mimic wrinkle correction with injections, fractional skin rejuvenation with FraxelDual or CO2Re lasers, skin rejuvenation with plasmmolifting (PRP), non-operative skin tightening with Thermage CPT. Our doctors will advise you on the best methodologies or combination of methodologies to achieve your desired results!
