Many people of different ages suffer from acne. Acne develops when the sebaceous glands in the skin produce oil at an increased rate. This oil binds to the cells in the walls of the glands and clogs the skin pores. Normal skin bacteria (P. acnes) colonize these pores, causing the inflammation or redness of the skin that we associate with acne.

With Omnilux technology, by irradiating the acne with blue and red LED light at specific wavelengths, the bacteria self-destruct and the inflammation is reduced. The acne disappears and the skin is healed.

HOW DOES OMNILUX WORK?

Omnilux blue light (415 nm) targets and kills the acne-causing bacteria (P. acnes) in clogged pores that causes redness and inflammation.

HOW SAFE IS OMNILUX TREATMENT?

Omnilux light is safe, painless, harmless to the skin and does not generate heat. The light interacts naturally with the body, promoting a healing response. There are no reported adverse reactions and the light does not damage the skin in any way.

What results can be expected from a series of treatments? Optimal results can be observed 4-8 weeks after treatment. Although studies have shown a complete disappearance of acne, on average 70% of acne lesions can be expected to disappear.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING OMNILUX TREATMENT?

After a prior consultation with a dermatologist (which is mandatory before the course of treatments), the patient cleanses their face, lies down on a couch and rests for 20 minutes under the Omnilux lamp. The treatment lasts 20 minutes.

The course of treatment is usually 8 light treatments in four weeks.

Depending on the type of acne, the provider may recommend you to use a face wash or gel with salicylic acid.
