PRP, or platelet-rich plasma therapy, is an advanced treatment method that helps our patients solve medical problems such as joint pain, urological and gynaecological problems. The method is based on the injection of plasma from the patient’s own blood, which stimulates the regeneration process of the body’s cells.
In recent years, this method, whose effectiveness has been proven by clinical studies, has been successfully used in practice in various fields of medicine: orthopaedics, gynaecology, surgery, urology and aesthetic medicine.
With PRP therapy, you can naturally activate your body’s self-healing function without surgery or the use of harmful drugs.
THE USE OF PLATELET-RICH PLASMA (PRP)
Platelets play a significant role in the functioning of the body and in tissue repair. By secreting growth factor, they stimulate the division and growth of damaged cells. Increased concentrations of platelets in the blood promote tissue regeneration and wound healing. The healing effect occurs when the concentration of platelets in the blood increases several times and reaches 1 million /mcl (the norm is 150-350 thousand /mcl).
Platelets rich plasma (PRP) is blood plasma that contains an increased amount of platelets, which act on the body’s tissues to facilitate healing, regenerative and repair processes. PRP contains 3 to 5 times the amount of growth factors, cytokines and biologically active proteins found in normal blood.
Growth factors — natural human proteins that can stimulate the growth, proliferation and differentiation of cells. These include platelet-derived growth factor, transforming growth factor, vascular endothelial growth factor, epithelial growth factor, etc.
SAFETY OF THE PRP METHOD
The PRP method has its origins in autohaemotherapy, which dates back more than 100 years. Plasmotherapy is recognized by the world medical community and its mechanism of action is well studied, so it can be called the “safety standard”.
Since the platelet-rich plasma is obtained from the patient’s own blood, it is absolutely safe in order to prevent the transmission of infectious diseases and cannot cause incompatibilities or allergic reactions.
PRP is widely used in both regenerative and aesthetic medicine. In the field of regenerative medicine, the experienced doctors at Era Esthetic clinic perform PRP treatments for joint pain as well as urological and gynaecological diseases.
The patient is injected with their own cells, so the procedure is absolutely safe
PRP FOR TREATMENT OF JOINT PAIN
Joint pain and discomfort are experienced by many people over the age of 50. This pain is caused by cartilage and bone changes associated with ageing. The unique treatment technology with autoplasma (PRP) helps to delay the ageing process of the musculoskeletal system and prevent degenerative changes in the joints, returning joviality and ability to move without pain to the patient..
To treat joint pain, the first stage of the PRP procedure involves drawing blood from the patient’s vein, and the blood then is placed in a special container and treated according to the special REGEN LAB® methodology.
The plasma obtained from the patient’s blood is injected into the joint. The growth factors in the plasma trigger the tissue regeneration process.
REGEN LAB® is a Swiss biotechnology laboratory, a leader in regenerative medicine.
PRP PROCEDURE HELPS IN THE TREATMENT OF JOINT PAIN:
• preventing joint pain;
• increasing the range of movement in the joints;
• restoring cartilage tissue in the joints;
• strengthening the ligamentous apparatus of the joints;
• speeding up rehabilitation after injury or surgery.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE REQUIRED?
One treatment is usually enough to solve the problem. The doctor determines the number of treatments needed for each patient individually.
PRP FOR UROLOGICAL AND GYNECOLOGICAL DISEASES
PRP allows successful treatment of urological and gynaecological problems such as urinary and faecal incontinence, dyspareunia, pain during sexual intercourse, erectile dysfunction. These diseases affect both women and men and not only affect the physical condition, but also cause psychological discomfort. PRP treatments help to resolve these problems and return to a fulfilling life.
HOW IS THE PRP TREATMENT PERFORMED?
At the clinic, the PRP procedure is carried out only with plasma obtained from autologous blood – the patient’s own blood, which is taken just before the procedure.
The plasma preparation process is simple and safe. The blood is collected from the patient in a small container and then centrifuged for 5 to 10 minutes to separate the red blood cells from the plasma.
The resulting plasma (pure or mixed with other components, depending on the doctor’s recommendations and the patient’s consent) is then injected into the problem areas according to a specific schedule..
All stages of the procedure are performed with equipment from REGEN LAB®, a Swiss biotechnology laboratory at the forefront of regenerative medicine..
CONTRAINDICATIONS TO PRP TREATMENTS
Plasma therapy cannot be performed due the following conditions:
• severe damage to internal organs;
• virus hepatitis;
• diabetes mellitus;
• systemic blood disorders;
• pregnancy;
• immunosuppressive disorders;
• mental disorders.
HOW SHOULD A PATIENT PREPARE FOR A PRP TREATMENT?
• 2 to 3 days before the treatment, anticoagulants should be discontinued.
• Alcohol, fatty and fried foods, and foods rich in preservatives should not be consumed one day before the procedure.
