Dehydrated skin – how to protect yourself in winter?

1. Use ionizing humidifiers

In autumn and winter in the rooms it is important to humidify the air with the help of special equipment. Air humidifiers placed at home and at your place of work (where you stay for a long time) will help to eliminate the main cause of dehydration.

2. Drink more water

If you drink little water, no cosmetic moisturizer will help your dehydrated skin. Moisturize the skin first of all from the inside! It is important to drink water throughout the day. Admission of coffee and tea not only does not go into credit, but on the contrary, it takes away moisture from your body – so these drinks need to be compensated with an additional glass of water.

4. Review your home skin care

In winter it is important to review your routine home skin care. It is best to do this with a specialist who can assess the degree of dehydration of your skin. After analyzing your skin, a specialist (dermatologist or cosmetologist) will most likely recommend you dermatocosmetics with therapeutic functions. This cosmetics as well as possible prevents the loss of transdermal fluid, restores hydrolipid mantle of the skin and has calming qualities.

The main routine skin care is the correct two-phase cleansing. To cleanse the skin, it is recommended to use products such as milk, washing gel or micellar gel to cleanse the skin. The use of micellar water in the autumn-winter period is especially indicated for sensitive skin, even if it tends to be fat. In the autumn and winter, tonics that do not contain alcohol, salicylic acid and other irritating components are recommended for toning the skin. You can also use thermal water with the required subsequent application of the appropriate cream.

In the autumn-winter period, the use of serums and concentrates for additional moisturizing of the skin and appropriate creams is recommended. It is recommended to apply the day cream for half an hour before leaving home.

In the autumn winter period it is often useful to “turn” the order of application of uhodovyh creams. In the daytime, it is recommended to use more dense creamy textures that will protect your skin from the effects of the external environment. At night, you can use lighter, restorative means.

5. Be careful with oils!

Many believe that in winter, the more oils, the better. But this is absolutely wrong. Applying cosmetic oils to dehydrated skin is harmful, because they will not help moisturize. The oil works correctly only when it is applied to the skin with the correct hydrolipid balance, and the dehydrated skin lacks a hydrolipid barrier. In addition, cosmetic oils often contain ether, and their use will only increase the manifestation of dehydration and skin sensitivity.

6. Do not abuse the peelings

In the autumn-winter period, abrasive peelings and acids should not be abused. If your skin is sensitive and dehydrated, acidic care can be carried out only after restoring the hydrolipid balance.

7. Use the skin moisturizing procedures

A number of cosmetic procedures can effectively and quickly restore the hydro lipid balance of the skin. Among such techniques, injection procedures are first known, delivering hyaluronic acid (biorevitalization) or plasma (PRP, or plasma-lifting) into the skin. For those who are afraid of needles, we can recommend a laser biorevitalization procedure. In turn, to eliminate the sensitivity of the vessels, we recommend the procedure of laser therapy with a pulsed laser VBeam Perfecta – the gold standard for treatment of face redness and vascular lesions on the skin.
